וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִם־מָצָאנוּ חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ יֻתַּן אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לַעֲבָדֶיךָ לַאֲחֻזָּה אַל־תַּעֲבִרֵנוּ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃

precamurque si invenimus gratiam coram te, ut des nobis famulis tuis eam in possessionem, nec facias nos transire Jordanem.
Por tanto, dijeron, si hallamos gracia en tus ojos, dése esta tierra á tus siervos en heredad, y no nos hagas pasar el Jordán.
“If we have found favor in your sight,” they said, “ let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
