Ascension of Isaiah

Preserved complete only in Ethiopic: the martyrdom of the prophet Isaiah under Manasseh (the sawn-asunder tradition Hebrews 11:37 seems to recall) and a vision of the Beloved's descent through the seven heavens. A text of two eras — a Jewish core and an early Christian expansion — valuable as a window into how the first believers read Isaiah.
